Manufacturing Product Engineer

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Products, the Manufacturing Product Engineer will be responsible for maximizing production yield and reduction in field quality issues for Cable TV RF infrastructure and optical products.


  • Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering;
  • A strong manufacturing and/or engineering background specific to RF products; 
  • Significant NPI experience within an electronics manufacturing environment; and
  • Strong statistical analysis and troubleshooting skills.

In addition to the qualifications listed above and below, we are seeking a flexible, self-motivated professional capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously and accommodating change, who is a strong communicator to audiences with varying technical abilities.  

The successful candidate will achieve the above mandate through the following duties:  

  • Monitor the manufacturing production yield;
  • Triage data to pareto yield detractors identifying high hitters and opportunities for improvement;
  • Performing failure analysis, root cause investigations and implement improvements/solutions;
  • Participate in developing a yield roadmap and production test strategies;
  • Participate in defining test requirements for pre-production test and evaluation units;
  • Create and present reports and recommendations to the management team;
  • Review qualification plans and results with product development and validation engineers
  • Provide design teams with design for manufacturing, design for assembly and design for test feedback (DFx);
  • Support production as a technical liaison to product development teams;
  • Performs all tasks in accordance with established Safe Work Practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Systems; and
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Experience working with statistical yield analysis tools, defect breakdown paretos, Six Sigma analysis experience is preferred;
  • Cable telecommunications background would be an asset (HFC, RFoG, DOCSIS);
  • Capable of operating various equipment including; vector/scalar network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, frequency counter, waveform monitor, DMM, soldering tools and other small hand tools;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; 
  • Must be self-motivated and take ownership for leading the cross-functional teams to implement product yield improvements;
  • Superior communication skills both oral and written to give and receive complex or sensitive information inside and outside the organization; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills capable of working in a team and interacting with all levels of associates both internal and external to organization;


This position may require some travel (2-4 trips per year) both domestic and international.
