Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Services, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for advising on a variety of HR issues. The ideal candidate will have more than five (5) years of North American experience in a generalist capacity, ideally in a manufacturing or technology sector. 

The successful candidate will achieve the above mandate through the following duties: 
  • Monitors and approves the biweekly Canadian and U.S payrolls, and maintains proficiency with the ATX payroll and benefits administration to be a capable back up for the Human Resources & Corporate Services Coordinator as required;
  • Supervise the HR & Corporate Services Coordinator including development, training and performance management;
  • Management of the North American employee group benefit plans;
  • Proactively leads health and safety initiatives to prevent injury and illness including participation on and providing guidance to the Joint Health Safety Committee, maintaining safety programs, policies, training and awareness to drive continuous improvement on safety behaviors and comply with applicable OHS legislation;
  • Coordinates recruitment activities, provides direction, guidelines and support to Managers during process, prepares job postings, announcements and offer letters, participates in interviews, and ensures lawful practices are followed through process;
  • Provide guidance and coaching to Supervisors/Managers on company policies, procedures and employment practices;
  • Onboarding of new candidates including internal communications and orientation: and
  • Other duties as assigned.


Our future team member will have advanced working knowledge of the following:

  • University degree or College Diploma in Human Resources combined with a CHRL Designation or be working towards;
  • Working knowledge of payroll principles and legislation within Canada, experience with US payroll would be an asset;
  • Experience working with an HRIS and automated payroll software (“ADP Workforce Now” );
  • Strong knowledge of Employment practices and legislation in Canada and the U.S;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Superior communication skills both oral and written;
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively at all levels of the organization and externally.
