Product Manager

Ajax, Ontario, Canada Full-time

We are seeking an experienced CATV industry Product Management professional with in depth technical knowledge of HFC Network Access products, who has demonstrated experience with new product management both from a business development and manufacturing stand point.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Business Development RF & Optics, the Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing and technical support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.  

Top four qualifications our future team member will possess:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics or a related field;
  2. Ten (10) years’ technical product management experience within the HFC Networks Access market;
  3. Advanced knowledge of RF and optical components and communication systems design;
  4. Experience with CATV systems, architectures, designs and products.

The successful candidate will achieve the above mandate through the following duties:

  • Gather and analyze competitive market data and communicate internally as the SME;
  • Define, and continually evolve product strategy & roadmap;
  • Prepare MRD’s and PRD’s with prioritized features for new products;
  • Conduct new product planning, development tracking and reporting through NPI, and on-going maintenance of the product line thereafter;
  • Conduct new technology investigations and planning with R&D;
  • Establish and/or support relationships with critical suppliers, vendors and customers;
  • Support proposal responses;
  • Forecast preparation and review with manufacturing;
  • Prepare and deliver internal and external technical product training/presentations;
  • Provide technical input for manuals, data sheets and other marketing collateral; and
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.


  • Exceptional interpersonal skills capable of interfacing with internal and external associates at all levels and varying technical ability;
  • Highly self-motivated individual with a proven history of achieving project targets;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to plan and organize a number of complex activities often with changing deadlines and/or specifications;
  • Superior communication skills both oral and written to exchange complex, technical information internally and externally;
  • Prior experience developing and delivering technical presentations and training;
  • Strong negotiation skills including the ability to influence; and
  • Proficiency with various computer programs including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and internet applications.

OTHER: This position will require regular travel in North America and some internatioanl travel.
